Happy Thanksgiving to all! Hope everyone enjoyed your day of eating plenty, spending time with loved ones and always being thankful. Tradition is very meaningful to my family and myself. This year, I ran the Garden City Turkey Trot. I have been running in this race for 5years now and it has been truly rewarding but also lots of fun! The Trot races money every year for foundations such as The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Muscular Dystrophy Association, as well as Serving Hungry and Homeless Long Islanders. It's always important to stay active especially when it comes to helping others in need :) http://www.gcturkeytrot.com/
Wah! Wah! Absolutely loved photographing a one month old today! Welcome to the world baby D! He was so tiny & excited to have his picture taken. His mommy & daddy wanted a Christmas Holiday theme so we had props like Christmas ornaments, snow (fluff) & a red blanket. Baby D was dressed in red Santa pants with a little elf hat. TOO CUTE! I knew going into this shoot that it would take a lot of patience & time to capture the perfect moment. It was important for me to establish a sense of trust & comfort for both the baby & his parents. We spent the afternoon positioning him in so many adorable poses--some he liked....others he did not... It took some time...along with a couple of breaks but baby D was a true rockstar! The session was very natural with genuine emotion. I was absolutely thrilled to be apart of this moment & I know that mommy & daddy will look at these photos years from now & be reminded of the sweetness of their baby boy. Best wishes to the new parents & baby D!!
Yesterday, I spent the morning and afternoon helping out the organization Operation Christmas Child.
"OCC, the world's LARGEST Christmas project, brings joy and hope to needy children around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes..."
This is my 3rd year donating my time and items to the children who do not receive gifts Christmas morning. My best friend, D, brought this organization to my attention and it has been so rewarding. D & I spent the day at the Suffolk County OCC wrapping party where children and their families individually filled the shoe boxes with hygiene items, toys, school supplies, shoes, candy, & more! The children were even able to fill out an 'About Me' sheet that gets delivered with the box of goodies! How cool!! D & I counted the boxes with a result of 400+ boxes.
It is wonderful knowing that these gifts will put smiles on so many faces :) Get involved!!! http://www.samaritanspurse.org/what-we-do/operation-christmas-child/
I did it! Today, I shared the website with everyone. It was so thrilling to present my artwork and services to the public. I was seriously so ecstatic, nervous and anxious to get my name out there! Just so thankful for the support and feedback I have been receiving. Makes my job that much better :) I hope that you all enjoy the site and please feel free to leave feedback/requests! It is unreal that in just a short time of being official I have received so many page views-- Over 230 now and counting. This is exciting!
